The seething, swirling, bubbling mass of humanity that is America gathered together to celebrate our shared freedoms this past week. Wherever you may find yourself on the political spectrum, note that WE ARE ALL THE SAME. The media may profit by portraying a divided fearful world but whether that is true for YOU or not depends on your perspective. Maybe it's not so bad out there after all.
There is no place quite like the backwoods of Pennsylvania. It may not be the most historically noted or lavishly described but it is a hidden gem. Kristen and I spent a hot June day with good friends living deep in the wilds of Pennsylvania.
Forget the skyscrapers and taxicabs...Traci and Gus had a New York City wedding unlike I've ever seen! In the third week of October 2016 the leaves had started to change but sea air around Staten Island's Snug Harbor was still balmy. Founded in 1801, Snug Harbor was originally a home for retired sailors but after three decades of restoration it is now one of New York City's most cherished Botanical Gardens.
Kendyl & David have got to be one of the most romantic and loving couples that I've ever met. I had photographed their engagement portraits a year before and couldn't wait to work with them again. Once the 1st of October arrived I found myself traveling to one of the hidden gems of Northeast Pennsylvania, Whitewoods. The air was balmy, the grounds verdant and luscious. The trees had just-barely started to turn colors. It was a perfect day for their rustic yet lavish wedding.
Whoooo Boy, the hot days of Summer are here! Thankfully Rebecca & Ian thought ahead and provided sunglasses to all of their guests at the beautiful Country Club of Scranton. The luxurious grounds provided a perfect backdrop for a Mid-day wedding conducted under an arbor handmade for the ceremony by the groom. After dinner the couple and I escaped to capitalize on the AMAZING sunset. Entertainment for the evening was provided by Adam Skuba. Hair and makeup by Alexander's Salon and Spa.
Honoring our vets and fallen heroes with brass bands, concealed-carry handguns, mini flags and t-shirts made anywhere but here. God Bless America!
